Getting information of your Linux

if we want to get information about our Linux  version, kernel version, runlevel, there are a few command to get this information:

  • uname -a
    This command will give us all the information regard the Linux kernel .
  • lsb_release -a
    This command will give us information about the Linux distribution and version of the  distribution. This is useful when trying to get help for problem in our distribution, people would like to know you Linux distribution and version.
  • runlevel
    This command will give use information about the current run level. run level can tell us for example if we have network enable or not, whether we are in a single use or multi user.
