Linux screen

Screen command is way to run long running process in the background, have a continues session in a long server, and of sharing session between users.

  • screen -ls
    list the running screen consoles.
  • screen <command>
    run the command (process) inside a screen, and connect us to the screen.
  • Ctrl +a d – detach us from the screen  console.
  • screen -r <sessionName>
    reattach us to the screen consolesessionName.
  • screen -S <sessionName>
    create a new screen session with the name  sessionName.
  • screen -x <userName>/<sessionName>
    attach to screen session sessionName of user userName
